About Kelly Larson

Kelly Larson is a PhD student and Percy Pierre Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Civil and Systems Engineering (CaSE) and the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University. Advised by Dr. Igusa, her research focuses on the intersection of systems engineering, public health, and implementation science. Current projects address tobacco cessation for people with serious mental illness and perinatal health in low- and middle-income countries. Before starting her PhD, Kelly spent seven years working in the healthcare industry, most recently as Director of a perinatal data, operations, and technology team. She is passionate about applying engineering to healthcare challenges and aims to pursue an academic career bridging systems engineering and public health.
