Lauren Gardner​

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR of Civil and Systems Engineering

Dr. Lauren Gardner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. She leads interdisciplinary research efforts on the topic of bio-secure mobility, which utilizes network optimization and mathematical modeling to improve our understanding of disease spreading patterns and risk as a function of transportation systems, land use, climate and population demographics. She is also a member of the Infectious Disease Dynamics (IDD) Group in Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Prior to joining JHU she was a faculty member at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney. She is a leading member of the Research Centre for Integrated Transport Innovation (rCITI), and Visiting Scientist at Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), serving as the transport lead on the DiNeMo Project. Sauleh Siddiqui

Assistant Professor of Civil and Systems Engineering

Sauleh Siddiqui is an Assistant Professor of Civil and Systems Engineering and Applied Mathematics and Statistics at the Whiting School of Engineering, where he leads the Mathematical Optimization for Decisions Lab (MODL). He is a Research Fellow at DIW Berlin and Associate Editor for the journal Optimization and Engineering. He received an A.B. in Mathematics and Public Policy from Franklin & Marshall College and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics & Statistics, and Scientific Computation from the University of Maryland. Kimia Ghobadi

John C. Malone Assistant Professor of Civil and systems Engineering

Kimia Ghobadi is a John C. Malone Assistant Professor of Civil and Systems Engineering and Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare at the Whiting School of Engineering. Prior to that, she was a postdoctoral fellow at MIT Sloan School of Management, and received her PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. She obtained her Bachelor in Mathematics at Sharif University and her Masters’ in Mathematics and Computational Engineering and Science at McMaster University. Kimia is a recipient of INFORMS Judith Liebman award and Canada’s Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council’s graduate and postdoctoral scholarships. [Google Scholar]

Takeru Igusa

Professor of Civil and systems Engineering

Tak Igusa is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Systems Engineering where he has been a faculty member since 1999. While his initial research was focused on systems analysis of civil and mechanical structures, during the past 10 years he has pursued collaborations throughout Johns Hopkins to explore wider applications of systems methods. Ensheng (Frank) is a PhD student of the Department of Civil and Systems Engineering (CaSE), the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at the Johns Hopkins University, and the infectious disease dynamics (IDD) group at the JHU Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is interested in interdisciplinary research on network science, mobility modeling, machine learning, spatial analysis and visualization, and infectious disease. His recent work includes forecasting measles risk in the US and the Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs), visualizing and modeling the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and predicting dengue outbreaks in Sri Lanka.
