Lauren Gardner is passionate about improving societal wellbeing through generating open data resources and translating science into action. She is an expert in building large scale data collection systems and building data driven models of infectious disease risk. Specifically, she developed and led the Johns Hopkins CSSE COVID-19 interactive dashboard during the Pandemic. She also leads various interdisciplinary research projects which bring together systems engineers, economists, behavioral scientists, infectious disease modelers and public health experts to progress the state of the art in global epidemiological risk assessment.
