The SI is leading the Education and Training Core of the Center, which will train cross-disciplinary research students in complex modeling of public health issues. The models that are being developed by the students and researchers will be used to explore the interconnected factors that are driving the global obesity epidemic. The data for the system models will be obtained from both public records and targeted projects, which will enable analysis of the consequences of practical interventions in the food landscape, and close the loop between research and practice.
